I wonder how long it will take until we see Djokovic doing a photo shoot for Sports Illustrated posed alongside a supermodel? I’m sure many of you Rafael Nadal and Bar Refaeli fans have seen the photos where the two pose, Nadal in swimming shorts, Refaeli in a bikini, Nadal still in swimming shorts, Refaeli in only a bikini bottom. The ultra-sensual photos made one quick question pop into my mind—I wonder what Rafa’s girlfriend Maria Perello thinks of them?
There are about ten photos in all and you can see them on sportsillustrated.com. In some of the photos the two are lying down, or holding each other in a tight embrace…Ooh. Now, wait there’s more. After posing the two for the photo shoot, the photographer Walter Loss Jr. said it was, “almost a romance.” Refaeli said she was excited to work with Rafael Nadal in the photo shoot, and that he could be a fantastic model. Just take a look at those seductive faces he makes. She further said, “I was a little nervous, because normally when I work for Sports Illustrated it’s just me.”
During the slightly more intimate scenes Bar Refaeli said she joked around with Nadal. Their photo shoot together was the most seductive in the series called, Bar and the Boys. The photos of Bar with NBA star Chris Paul were of a much more friendly nature, while the photos with Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps had a much more artistic feel. Now here’s the kicker, following the photo shoot Spanish super star Nadal commented, “It was a new experience for me, I enjoyed it a lot.”
I’m sure you did Rafa. So, the man has had a stress free month relaxing, practicing hard, and a photo shoot with a supermodel but it’s all in days work for Nadal. Rest assured I can tell all you Rafa fans he’s not slacking off, but building himself up big time. Perhaps there’s a lot more to his drive then winning tournaments, and becoming No.1 again. Maybe, he like Roger Federer is so good at what he does because he has a strong woman by his side.
Nadal and his girlfriend Maria Perello have been dating for over six years. Now think about how long he’s been either No.1 or No.2. Nearly 7 years. Is there a connection here between Nadal’s success and Maria Perello? Well maybe, the two both come from the small town of Manacor, Spain. She is often at matches supporting Nadal, and since he’s always traveling the world maybe it gives him a small comforting feeling of home.
I’m sure I’ve said this before, but there’s a lot to admire about Nadal. He’s always positive, and as one of the tennis world’s biggest super stars he could likely be with someone like Bar Refaeli. Instead he remains noble and real at heart, straying away from the superficial, sticking with the girl from his small-town home.
