Roger Federer continues to look just a little off. Somehow, he needs to shake this off. He leaves Jarkko Nieminen a little below #40.

Still no rankings move for Tomas Berdych, although he’s getting closer to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Andreas Seppi ends up a little below #40.

There went Viktor Troicki’s Top Twenty chance — and it went fast! He will be no better than #22.
Singles – Quarterfinal: N Davydenko def. (5) R Gasquet 7-5 6-3
Richard Gasquet got off to a fast start, but then hit a speed bump. He will hit the Top Fifteen, but he could have gone several spots higher with a win. Nikolay Davydenko will probably return to the Top Forty as a result of this.
Doubles – Quarterfinal: (2) Llodra/Zimonjic def. Qureshi/Rojer 7-6(7-2) 6-4
Given the way Rohan Bopanna and Aisam Qureshi are both struggling with their current partners, we might see them back together by year-end. No, they haven’t said that, but the new teams are not great successes….

Doubles – Quarterfinal: Granollers/M Lopez def. Schoorel/Sijsling 6-1 6-1
At almost any other optional event, Granollers/Lopez would have been seeded. As it is, they’re playing like seeds….
