After sorting out her coaching situation – she stays with father Piotr – and enjoying a golf tournament weekend with boyfriend Rory McIlroy in the Gulf, Caroline Wozniacki has turned her attention back to tennis for the first time since losing her No. 1 ranking.

The current WTA No. 4, beaten in an Australian Open quarter-final by Kim Clijsters, is playing at the Doha WTA event. While she will be supported for at least the first few days by her man, the Dane has mainly tennis on her mind as she begins to battle back from her current fourth in the world.

Even with Valentine’s Day today, it was business as usual for the 21-year-old. “When you’re out on the court, you just focus on the ball and on the game you’re going to play,” she said. “You don’t really think about too much else around. But it’s nice to have him around.

Wozniacki was surpassed on the top spot by Victoria Azarenka, with Maria Sharapova second and Wimbledon winner Petra Kvitova third.

Wozniacki is also looking forward to the London Olympic during a busy summer. “The Olympics is very big for every player this year. It’s only every four years, and it’s a special event. It’s somewhere where you really want to try to do your best and hopefully try to get a medal.”
