Wayne Arthurs and teammate Thomas Muster along with their opponents Pat Cash and Goran Ivanisevic had the crowd overjoyed during their doubles match as it became a battle of showmanship. Muster and Arthurs won the game 6-4, 6-3, but did not win the crowd over as merrily as Ivanisevic did. Ivanisevic stopped frequently, signing autographs and taking photos becoming the center of attention as he took breaks and chatted with the umpire. Cash all the while played as best he could with his joker of a teammate. Ivanisevic even gave one of the ball boys a shot with his own racket.
