Holiday Angels Bless MWKF Families Again

Thank you to the more than 90 donors and friends of MWKF who provided gifts for TnT (Tennis & Tutoring) students and their siblings this holiday season. Your generosity allowed us to truly brighten the lives of more than 225 children; many of whom would not have received gifts without your support! Thanks to your help, students will begin the New Year with new tennis shoes, an outfit, and a gift or toy. Thank you again to all who participated in making this our most successful year to date!

Servathon Kicks Off This Week

TnT students begin Servathon this week. This month of service dedicated to teaching students the importance of community service, runs between the Martin Luther King, Jr. and President’s Day holidays. During this time, students learn the value in giving back to others. Class projects include collecting for the American Red Cross, feeding the homeless at the Sulzbacher Center, writing letters to wounded warriors, and sorting and delivering food at the Second Harvest Food Bank. If you are interested in volunteering for one of these events, please contact Ashley Strickland Ashley@malwashington.com.

Support MWKF through TPC’s Birdies for Charity

It’s that time of year again! MWKF is pleased to be partnering with the 2012 PLAYERS Championship Birdies for Charity program. This community-based fundraising initiative is held in conjunction with THE PLAYERS Championship May 7-13, 2012. With a $20 minimum donation to MWKF you will have the opportunity to guess the number of birdies that will be made during the competition rounds of the tournament. Guess correctly and you will be in the running to win $5,000 (and another $5,000 for MWKF!) All funds received will go directly to the programs and services of MWKF. Simply click here to participate today!

Sponsors Needed for Growing SAC Program!

With more than 175 students currently on our roster, we are in need of Sponsors more than ever for our SAC (Sponsor-A-Champion) Program. For $300 per year (or $30 per month), you will be matched with a Champion in our program and will receive quarterly updates from them. Updates include a picture and personalized letter from your Champion, as well as an update on their academic standing and progress on the tennis court. 36 Sponsors for students (3rd grade – High School) are needed to provide a match to EACH and EVERY student in those grade levels. If you are interested, please contact Erika White Erika@malwashington.com.
