The “Empowering Artists Through the Arts” t-shirt contest started December 17 and runs through January 17. From the finalists, Williams will pick a grand prize winning entry that will have his or her graphic printed on a T-shirt to be sold at the tournament, meet her at the VIP reception and receive an autographed tennis racquet.
“As a competitive athlete, I understand what it takes to work hard and win,” she wrote on http://elevenbyvenuscontest.com. “As a fashion designer, I get to commit myself to a lifelong journey of creativity and speak the language of clothes. The translation of colors, fabrics and designs allows me to share my truth. After all, art is the one place we get to be ourselves, reveal our imagination, and share that gift to the world.”
A portion of the proceeds of the sales selected the EleVen (11) Empowering Artists Through The Arts Tee -Shirts will benefit the New World School of the Arts, located in Miami, Florida. The New World School of the Arts is a center for excellence in the visual and performing arts and provides a comprehensive educational program of artistic training, academic and creative development, and preparation for professional careers in the arts.
