The exhibition matches and other activities due to take in the Thai beach resort of Hua Hin and featuring Caroline Wozniacki, Victoria Azarenka, John Isner and Paradorn Srichaphan are in jeopardy due to storms in the area.

Ironically the matches, held under the banner of the World Tennis Charity Invitation and to be played on New Year’s Day, are to raise money for flood relief following the recent disaster that led to more than 750 dead and 1.5 million homes damaged or destroyed.

Waves as high as four meters (12 feet) have been pounding the beaches of the area, with many houses flooded by seawater. The storms are expected to continue until the end of the week.
