Happy Holidays everyone and hello to the tennis collectors of the world – HELP? Tell 10sballs.com about this racket and receive a gift. Either a set of solinco strings or a Roger Federer calendar or a 10sballs.com t-shirt or collared shirt.
Ready. This is what we need to know. We know the racket is old. Like turn of last century. We know it’s a kid’s racket as you will see in the story when photographed with a Wilson pro staff. We know it’s old because on the close up the strings are gut and look “homespun” we have only one other racket similar? But that’s a mystery stick right now. It was purchased by Geezer in a thrift store in Syracuse NY almost forty years ago for five dollars.
Tennis collecting. Oh we have known collectors in our time. 10sballs.com is hoping to bring the collectors out of the woodworks. Maybe Randy Crow from Sporting Antiques knows? All I know is there’s some prizes for some accurate feedback or comments. Please send below or to Lovey at lovey@10sballs.com
Interesting I just noticed… The cross strings are red the mains are clear. Which I’ve often seen in older rackets. It has a screw in the throat to hold the frame together.
Why do I wish the collectors do a “show and tell” with us. Simple it’s like so many shows on TV in the United States. Antique Roadshow or Rick’s Restoration… Wouldn’t it be nice to have an expert tell us what we have :). I’m going to share a key chain collection in the coming weeks. Share with us. Randy. Rick Leach any of you guys know what Geez has?
