The

nominations for the 2012 Laureus World Sports Awards have been announced

and tennis continues to feature prominently.

World number one Novak Djokovic is on the shortlist to succeed Rafael

Nadal as World Sportsman of the Year, while Wimbledon and Fed Cup by BNP

Paribas champion Petra Kvitova features among the World Sportswomen of

the Year nominees. The Czech Republic star has also been nominated

alongside China’s Li Na for the World Breakthrough of the Year award.

The awards take place in London on February 6th.
