–that Judy Murray, mother of world no.4 Andy, could soon be named as Britain’s new Fed Cup captain. Nigel Sears filled the job when he was Head of Women’s Tennis for the Lawn Tennis Association but has now returned to the WTA circuit as coach to Ana Ivanovic.

–That Australian Grant Doyle has now been confirmed as the new coach of Ryan Harrison.

–that Anna Chakvetadze, who was running for parliament in the elections held in Russia on Sunday, is planning a comeback to the Tour. She has not played since Wimbledon after three times retiring from matches with dizziness and, although the former world number five has seen her ranking slump to 231, WTA rules allow her to play Hobart and a limited number of other events using a special ranking.
