Eleven time Grand Slam Champion doubles specialists Bob and Mike Bryan will headline The Geyser Holdings All American Tennis Challenge presented by Dell/Intel on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011 at 4 p.m. at La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, CA. Top ranked American Mardy Fish has been sidelined for the event due to an injury following the ATP World Tour Finals. The World No. 1 Doubles team will be joined by American Davis Cup star Sam Querrey, and three time NCAA Champion Steve Johnson from University of Southern California for the tennis match. A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Bryan Brothers Foundation and Maggie’s Hope. Followed by a VIP performance with The Bryan Brothers Band with special guest American Idol star Michael Johns. A limited number of tennis and music tickets are available now for a special $50 price.
The most successful doubles team in the world, have just clinched the year –end No. 1 ATP Doubles Ranking for a record 7th time. Mike Bryan, along with his twin brother Bob have been the World No. 1 doubles player for over 225 weeks. Between 2005 and 2006, they set an Open Era record by competing in seven consecutive men’s doubles Grand Slam finals, three of which they won on their way to completing a career Grand Slam. On February 26, 2010, they recorded their Open Era record 600th match win.
Sam Querrey is returning to the pro tour from injuries and reached his career high rank of 17 this year. He holds the record for most consecutive service aces and has won 6 ATP World Tour events including back to back titles in Los Angeles.
The tennis format will feature a doubles pro set between Sam Querrey and Steve Johnson against the Bryan Brothers, followed by a singles showdown between Querrey and Johnson.
