The Year is Over for Novak Djokovic, But He Knows He Had a Great Year  |

Novak Djokovic is not lamenting his group exit from the World Tour Finals, with the Serb just happy to have produced the season of his life despite a bitter ending to the year.

“I really don’t want to go back and see what I could do better or maybe in order to prepare for this tournament. Everything happens for a reason. I believe it’s like that,” said the No. 1 who finished group play at the season wrap-up 1-2.

“I had an unbelievable year – nothing can really ruin that. I will always remember this year as the best of my life. I just want to prepare well for 2012.”

Djokovic lost his last group match in three sets after leading against compatriot Janko Tipsarevic, then was eliminated when Tomas Berdych won Group A.

“The body says that it‘s overloaded, it‘s been too much this year,” said Djokovic, ready for a restful holiday. “Obviously mentally I feel a little bit drained, as well.

“I just don‘t have that freshness in my mind for the matches and I don‘t have these dynamics that I had in all 10 months of the year.

“This is something to be expected after a year that I had. I look forward to go for a much needed rest.”
