Though he has had plenty to say about conciliatory British tax laws for big-earning sportsmen, Rafael Nadal may find himself visiting London privately a bit more often now that his longtime girlfriend Xisca Perello is reportedly set to study business in the British capital.
Xisca is one of the lowest-profile partners in the sport, with nary a public appearance of a WAG-style shopping spree so far documented. The 23-year-old is building her own career, which is why she will be spending her time in London studying business management and English.
She already has a University of Palma degree from the couple’s native Mallorca in Business Administration. “Rafael and I will be seeing less of each other from now on,” she told Spanish media.
Nadal has made no secret of his complaints regarding the British taxman, with the country now taxing international individual sportsmen on their proportional worldwide income based upon the time they spend in Britain. In some cases of big earners, the tax could exceed any tournament prize money.
