I’m watching Basel on the television. It’s live. Thank you Tennis Channel!

Thank you whoever is doing the feed. The camera angles are great. The umpire’s chair goes up and down electronically. Very nice touch. Like the dentist’s chair. The area of the court where the players change ends is about the tightest we’ve seen. Almost no room between net and chair. And behind players chairs are trash bins. Lovely. Now I know why Xavier Malisse had such a huge collision and pile – up in that area.

Ok. Back to the great camera angles. We are also seeing the ball kids. I think how we may see them on the pro tour in a few years. Yes, this is where the mighty Roger Federer began his love for tennis. Here in Basel. And ball-boying at this very event. How amazing. What a beautiful sight it is to see a hometown so proud of such a living legend. And better yet he is still playing great tennis. Really great tennis. Love watching the maestro perform in glorious, glamorous, historic venues.

Roger is ranked four in the world. But he is the best player on Earth !!!!

It was the end of an era at Crandon Park for the Miami Open last year. From the Lipton, to the Nasdaq 100, to the Sony Ericsson, to the Sony, to the Miami Open presented by Itau, Key Biscayne saw it all.
