Good evening readers, I’m still hard at work stringing rackets for players getting ready for the junior national tournament tomorrow. On top of practicing/coaching, I can fill my day getting my team ready using a great skill I learned from Rick Hartman and Bill Johns at Westwood Sporting Goods. It’s a good way to make some gas money and provide for my team and the youngsters playing the tournament.
Overall my game is coming back to me. I’m finding the range on my forehand and am maintaining a high level of intensity throughout my practices. I feel good and energized knowing that through hard work, curiosity, and commitment, I’ve created a perfect atmosphere for myself that I can genuinely enjoy. I learn something new from the company I keep – whether it’s my coach Ben, my training buddies Christopher “Booie” Grant, Nick Crystal, or my friends I stay in touch with aroubd the world. Hopefully we can all make a dent in the tennis world someday.
I’ll leave you with a few snapshots of my day as I got lost in banana plantations in Mililani this morning, cruised the beach in Kapolei, and found some sunset in my friend Ikaika Jobe’s backyard… Another tough day of practice in paradise!
