Final Facts
– Cibulkova wins her first WTA title (coming in she was 0-3 in WTA finals, having been a runner-up at Amelia Island and Montréal in 2008 and at Linz a week ago).
– Cibulkova was one of only two Top 20 players without a WTA title coming into the tournament (Peng Shuai is now the only Top 20 player without a WTA title).
– Cibulkova had losing records against her last three opponents this week (she was 1-3 against Vera Zvonareva, 1-3 against Elena Vesnina and 0-2 against Kanepi); also, she had lost to her first round opponent Polona Hercog a few weeks ago in Seoul, 63 61.
– Kanepi was playing her first Premier-level final; she is now 1-3 in WTA finals.
– King and Shvedova win their fourth WTA doubles title together (they won Wimbledon and the US Open last year and Cincinnati earlier this year),
– King now has 14 WTA doubles titles to her name; Shvedova now has six.
