CoolPlanetBioFuels Named as Official Title Sponsor of Bryan Bros. Tennis Fest & Wine Tasting Event
All-Time Winningest Doubles Team named Global Citizens of the Year by the World Affairs Council of America and Will be Honored at Gala Dinner on Oct. 21
CoolPlanetBiofuels, a Camarillo-based energy company, has signed on as the title sponsor for the Bryan Brothers Tennis Fest and Wine Tasting event on Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Spanish Hills Country Club.
In addition to the title sponsor news, Dave McKinney, the director of tennis at Spanish Hills and the event organizer, has announced the world’s No. 1 doubles team of Mike and Bob Bryan are being recognized by the World Affairs Council of America with the Global Citizens of the Year Award.
The 33-year-old twins and all-time winningest doubles team in tennis history, will be presented with the award and honored at a special Gala Dinner presented by the World Affairs Councils of America on Friday, Oct. 21, at 6:30 p.m. at Spanish Hills.
The Global Citizen of the Year Award recognizes individuals who make an outstanding contribution in the area of citizen diplomacy. The organization cited Mike and Bob’s “excellent examples of the kind of selfless ambassadorship needed to promote and inspire global understandings.”
The evening will start with cocktails and hors d’oeuveres along with a silent auction. Executive Chef Karl Holst will prepare the dinner which will be served with wines sponsored by the California Wine Club. Following the dinner, the Bryan Bros. Band will be the entertainment at the black-tie optional evening with all proceeds going to the Bryan Brothers Foundation.
Tickets are currently on sale at $125 per person, $225 per couple and $800 for a VIP Table of eight. Tickets can be purchased through the website at: bbtennisfest.com
Last year’s event raised more than $80,000 for the Bryan Bros. Foundation, which also awarded a $5,000 grant to both the Ventura County Junior Tennis Association and the Santa Barbara Tennis Patrons to financially assist a promising junior player from each area. They also donate to many great local causes and regional charities.
The schedule for the Sunday, Oct. 23 Tennis Fest is from noon to 5 p.m. with a pro-am, wine tasting and pro exhibition.
