Wow…I’m watching the Shanghai Rolex Masters. Fernando Verdasco is dismissing Zhe Li of China in predictable fashion. What isn’t predictable, yet full of fashion, is the fact that Li is wearing this year’s US Open RF polo shirt as a player playing in a Master Series 1000 tournament! And not just one shirt, but two different RF shirts during the match.
Obviously, Li doesn’t know the code… that’s right the code. Look I own a heavy collection of RF polos, RF jackets, and RF hats, and I know you don’t wear these during tournament or competitive play unless you are Roger Federer. You only wear these when your as far from playing as possible… and try to avoid items (hats) that spell out Federer’s name. For me, and don’t forget, it’s always about me, I’m far too hip to be wearing a hat with someone’s name spelled out. It’s like Porsche drivers, we’re all very aware of the other Porsches on the road, but we play it off with a subtle head nod. It’s the same for your RF wear, it’s ok recognize your fellow RF associate and give the slight head nod condoning and acknowledging the brilliance of the player, but don’t dress up as Federer and take to the court. Your welcome!
