Natomas Racquet Club Hosts $100,000 USTA Pro Circuit Event thru October 9 |

Sacramento, CA., October 5, 2011-Americans Bobby Reynolds and Jack Sock highlighted Wednesday’s play with second round wins. No.4 Reynolds(USA) got off to a fast start against Frederik Nielsen(DEN) and was serving for the match in the second set, at 5-4 when Nielson staged a comeback and pulled out the second set at 7-5. Reynolds was able to get back on track in the third set though, as an early break of serve gave him the momentum he needed to win, 6-2,5-7,6-2.

Jack Sock(USA) had a similar experience with Roman Borvanov(MDA) as he raced out to a quick 6-1 first set win. However, a sprained ankle in the second set allowed Borvanov back in the match as he took a the second set, 6-3 to square the match. The third set saw a very gutsy performance from Sock as he was able to serve out the set after an early third set break to come home with a win,6-1,3-6,6-3.

Sacramento, CA., October 6, 2011-The top three seeds, James Blake, Ivo Karlovic and Sam Querry all won to advance to the quarter-finals. No. 1 Blake(USA) faced hard-serving Chris Guccione(AUS) and won in straight sets, 6-4,6-4. Next up on center court was No. 2 Ivo Karlovic who took on doubles partner, Victor Estrella(DOM) and came away with an easy 6-3,6-2 victory.

No.3 Sam Querry was the last singles match of the day on center court and it turned out to be a good one. His opponent, Denis Gremelmayr(GER), with a fine mix of power and drop shots took the first set, 7-6(4). The second set also went to a tie-breaker but this time Querry played tough when it counted and dominated the tie-breaker at 7-1. Querry finally was able to break Gremelmayr’s serve in the third set to win the match, 6-7(4),7-6(1), 6-3.
