Davis Cup by BNP Paribas 2012 Americas Zone Group I draw to be held in Bangkok

The ITF confirmed today that the draw for the 2012 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Americas Zone Group I will also be held in Bangkok on Wednesday 21 September. The draw will take place alongside the draws for the 2012 World Group, Europe/Africa Zone Groups I and II, and Asia/Oceania Zone Groups I and II at 18:30 local time (11:30 GMT).

There is still one remaining play-off tie to be played in the 2011 Americas Zone Group I between Mexico and Colombia on 28-30 October, but the result of this tie will not affect the seeds for 2012 Americas Zone Group I. However the draw for 2012 Americas Zone Group II will now take place following this tie on Monday 31 October.

The seeds for the Americas Zone Group I draw are as follows:

1. Chile

2. Brazil

Remaining Nations: Colombia or Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay.

The seeds for the other draws are already confirmed as follows:

World Group

1. Spain

2. Argentina

3. Serbia

4. France

5. Czech Republic

6. USA

7. Croatia

8. Russia

Remaining Nations: Austria, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Sweden and Switzerland.

Asia/Oceania Zone Group I

1. India

2. Australia

Remaining Nations: China, P.R., Chinese Taipei, Korea, Rep., New Zealand, Uzbekistan.

Europe/Africa Zone Group I

1. Israel

2. South Africa

3. Belgium

4. Romania

Remaining Nations: Denmark, Finland, Great Britain, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Slovenia.

Asia/Oceania Zone Group II

1. Philippines

2. Thailand

3. Indonesia

4. Pakistan

Remaining Nations: Hong Kong China, Lebanon, Pacific Oceania, Sri Lanka.

Europe/Africa Zone Group II

1. Ukraine

2. Poland
