Tennis Players Are The Finest Athletes On The Planet  |

U.S. Open finals. Oh it’s a “doozy” from the start. Johnny  Mac re: Novak. “A year ago  He was serving more doubles than aces and still number 3 in the world. That tells you how good he was.”

Me and my shadow. Yup. That’s about it for tennis players. Tennis players are out there for hours all by themselves except for their shadows ….

Its 2-2 in the first. Set. Right now its windy and half the stadium court in the shade. Full stadium. Tourney organizers must love the extra ticket sales today. Retail shopping. Beer consumed. Hot dogs eaten.  Vendors happy. Sponsors happy. C.B.S. happy…….

Today’s tennis player needs to be a. tennis player. A gymnast a contortionist. A sprinter. A distance runner. A high jumper and smart. They need super fit bodies. Great eyesight. Great anticipation. Patience. And focus. Our tennis players are playing a level that blows the sport thruogh any roof …(Roof)

Yikes. First set is over.  Novak took it at 6-2 in forty minutes or so. And that’s including the bouncing …….

10sballs.com needs to thank DUSAN VEMIC once again the most  LOYAL friend of this site.( Yes. The check is in the mail !)…… your man Nole looks so tired. So worn out. The third game of the second set is Nadal trying to hold and its @ the 16 minute mark as games go. Rafa doubled. The wind is bothering him. The chair umpire is pissing him off and Novak has his 6th game point for a 2-1  lead. What a game. What a point. Then Rafa missed a sort of overhead sitter. It was a 17 minute game  He had to win the point like  twenty times against Novak. Nole just doesn’t give up on a point. And guess what. Neither does Rafa.

The players are exhausted. But they dig deeper. Get second winds. Get inspired by the crowd. The rivalry. Their competitive spirits.  Besides being so athletic. Tennis players are road warriors. Always going thru airports. Airport security. Airplanes. We all know how hard air travel is today….

Gladiators. Its 4-2 Novak in the second and these guys are playing like their lives depend on the outcome of the match…..

This will make three Grand slams wins this Year. Unreal. If Bounce ,bounce, bounce wins … Rafa lost to Novak in five finals. I have to ask Dusan why Novak wears his nick name “nole ” on his shirt right in the center of his butt. Front of shirt anywhere isn’t appealing ? Middle of the back hockey ,baseball or other sports?

This is one heck of a match. Its 4-4 in the second. Its crowd has. Just fired up a thundering applause. Everyone is fired up. Well except for the guy in the hot seat. Umps chair.

This is go big or go home. It’s all or nothing. These tennis players are boxers while  playing chess. Poker and  Backgammon and cat and mouse all while playing tennis. Oh. Ok throw in chutes and ladders.

It’s 5-4 Djoker. He will now serve for the second set. Get ready for some bouncing in this game ….

Match update: Novak just won the second set. Wow.

What a year. What a power player  guest box you have. Besides Dusan Vemic you have Ron Burkle Billionaire and Beverly Hills Businessman there too …..

More later. I need to concentrate on this match. As I said. It’s a doozy ….

It was the end of an era at Crandon Park for the Miami Open last year. From the Lipton, to the Nasdaq 100, to the Sony Ericsson, to the Sony, to the Miami Open presented by Itau, Key Biscayne saw it all.
