Today the US Open within the last hour… The men’s players met behind closed doors with Brian Early. Tourney director of the US Open.  But… That was followed by each one spoke to Pam Shriver and expressed their concerns over the conditions they were sent out into. Hard courts are slippery when wet, the lines especially. They didn’t even dry the backs of the courts. The area within the lines and around them was dry. But all the courts were wet in the ends of the courts. The balls were wet. Come on guys. Our tennis players are world class athletes, possibly the greatest athletes on the planet. They sacrifice what they eat. Sleep activities three hundred odd days a year so that they can stay injury free. Why put such elite athletes at risk?  Tear a groin. Take a fall. Tweak a knee. What was the point, money?  ESPN was going nuts with the down time. Come on in this 15 Koufax every player sent on court put their careers at risk. Bravo Andy Murray. Dear brave heart!! Bravo Andy, from up the street. And bravo Rafael. Bring in Roger. And noel and tennis might have “Vito” or Benito as a true player’s rep. Or better yet. Commissioner!!!
