If Stockholm Open will take place at Kungliga Tennishallen between October 15 – 23, 2011. Three top players have confirmed they will be in Stockholm for the ATP Tournament in October.
Sweden’s hometown hero Robin Soderling, currently World No. 6 is looking forward to play in front of his home crowd. Soderling has been out of the game since Skistar Swedish Open in July with a wrist injury. The Swede never turned up for his first round US Open match in New York because of a virus causing a sore throat and a stomach upset.
Comeback player Juan Marti Del Potro has also confirmed participation with tournament director Jonas Bjorkman. The Argentinian underwent wrist surgery back in May 2010 and returned to the game eight months later. Del Potro is rapidly climbing back up the rankings. His career highest ranking was in January last year when he reached No. 4. He is currently ranked No. 18 on the ATP Tour rankings.
World No. 7 Gael Monfils is one of the fittest players on the ATP Tour. The Frenchman will certainly entertain the crowd in Stockholm. The Paris born player is a little bit unpredictable but when he is at his best he can be a threat to Djokovic, Nadal and Federer.
Former World No. 3 David Nalbadian will return to If Stockholm Open this year. The Argentinian won the tournament in 2008.
