Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi, Treat  Huey, and Somdev Devvarman.

What’s that? It’s three talented Indian players a guy from the Phillipines (He reminds us of Marc Lopez ) fast , smart , with magic hands.

It’s a great match. The vets of Hesh and Lee versus the puppies in Sommie  and Huey. Treat just hit a no look 360 crosscourt winner. What a lefty. What an athlete. All four guys are unreal. Come on Sommie. . Stay in there.  Mahesh is serving for the match. The  older Indians won.  Game set and match 6-4,7-5 in an hour and 32 minutes to reach the round of 16.

The weather  is changing. NYC could be getting rain. Yes the “r ” word……

It looks like Tuesday. Wednesday. Thursday. Yikes. That’s not good…..

There’s some great tennis on the grounds of the National Tennis Center.

Ok the BJK /NTC. Ok. That’s the best you’ll get from me…

Novak whose bouncing a lot today has had a great first set against “the dog ” Alix Dolgolopolov. Coached by the always fun Aussie Jack Reader.

Alix plays “kamikaze” style tennis. He is loose and plays a big ball. Always expect the unexpected with him. Nole is about to close out second set. So it’s 7-6 , 6-4.Third set about to start.  3-0 so far …

On to Jo – willi Tsonga whose up a set on Mardy Fish…. Jo took the first set 6-4. And they are in the middle of the second set. What’s Mardy’s first name? Is Mardy  short for something? Where’s the shark to answer the Fish question? Hey Greg you know? Hey Karen ask his pops?

Disco Dottie saw Global Chick last night. She’s been hanging in the Hamptons and @ the Lauren/Lauren wedding …  seems like it’s piven… Yuk. Anyway this opens gone way too fast. Been way too much fun. Has had nothing but great matches. It’s been a year to remember.

We hear Esther Vergeer arrives today. 10sballs.com wishes wheelchair athletes travel was easier….  We wish that more fans followed the sport  wheelchair tennis. Some truly amazing athletes in chairs. But mostly we hope you put Esther on your must see list. There’s no one on earth that has had the work ethic and mindset to be such a great champion. She is the undisputed queen of wheelchair tennis. She is a fine athlete. Great eye to ball ability. Fierce competitor… and coached by master coach Sven Groeneveld. … Check Esther’s record. It’s amazing. …
