Year in and year out, the all-time winningest doubles team keep winning, and keep giving back.
Camarillo twins Mike and Bob Bryan – owners of a record 73 ATP doubles titles and 11 Grand Slams – have announced that they will once again host the Bryan Brothers Tennis Fest on Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Spanish Hills Country Club just a mile from where they grew up.
Last year’s event raised more than $80,000 for the Bryan Bros. Foundation, which also awarded a $5,000 grant to both the Ventura County Junior Tennis Association and the Santa Barbara Tennis Patrons to financially assist a promising junior player from each area. They also donate to many great local causes and regional charities.
“This is a day for Mike and Bob’s Foundation, but it’s also a day of fun and relaxation that is so much more than tennis,” said Dave McKinney, the director of tennis at Spanish Hills and the event organizer. “It’s a fun day with music, food and wine. And of course the Pro-Am tennis and pro exhibition singles and doubles.”
Last year, top American’s Mardy Fish (world ranked #7) and Sam Querrey joined the twins, as did several special musical guests, including Jim Bogios of the Counting Crows and Michael Johns of American Idol fame who will return once again this year.
The schedule for the day is from noon to 5 p.m. with a pro-am, wine tasting and pro exhibition.
General seating tickets are currently available for $100 and VIP tables start at $500. Tickets can be purchased through the website at www.bbtennisfest.com or by contacting Spanish Hills.
