The court surfaces are rougher and aren’t forgiving… the surfaces used to shred soft tissue on backs. Today’s courts have more sand in final coat that makes the court fuzz the ball and “sandpaper” the shoe…
Now between the new equipment and the open stance forehands hips are really creating havoc even on young players. Yikes. We sure miss Milos Raonic. We hope you heal in time for a great indoor season in the fall.
What’s happened to our sport. We are making it a sport for the fittest athletes on the planet. (Rafa went 3 and a half hours in a heat index in the nineties …….)
Today’s pro tennis players get little or no rest or off season. They cannot or will not have long careers. What a shame. So much talent out there. As Roger would say what a pity…
