Well, I guess my prized collection of RF emblazoned hats, jackets and polo shirt are officially out of the closet….what a relief, like having the weight of the world lifted off my shoulders. Finally free, proud and ready to join the RF outfitted community. I may just wear my rare brown RF hat with my blue RF French Open polo and then throw on my Australian Open grey jacket with RF emblazoned on the sleeve just to blow minds.
But enough of that for now, lets get to something almost as important as my collection…someone has a birthday coming and its not me. That’s right, it’s Roger Federer’s 30th birthday, some may say that’s not good, how can he possibly compete, I say it couldn’t be better. There’s hardly enough room on my hard drive to list all that he has achieved and contributed to the game and industry of tennis. Now it’s time for Roger to take it in and fully enjoy the here and now, enough with the unnecessary pressures of trying to chase down more records. Roger was quoted as saying “I’d rather be 30 than 20” and “I’m at peace with myself” with that said, he couldn’t be in a better head space, this should, can and will be the best time in Roger’s tennis life and it shouldn’t be measured with wins. If he just allows the pure genius of what he loves to surface without all of the clutter and need to satisfy goals, we as fans will continue watch in complete awe and continue to have reel in our jaws like fish from the TV room floor. At 30, Roger’s creativity and unequivocal talent doesn’t go away, it should just allow him to actually to enjoy it as much as we do.
But this isn’t about Roger Federer, it’s about ME!, I don’t care if Roger wins another title, I just don’t want him to lose and have to cut MY viewing enjoyment short.
