Women’s update. Toronto and a bunch of misc info ….. The day started with pouring rain. Three and a half hours delay. Photo pit was completely flooded. Waist high water. Crazy storm.

Serena Williams won with the loss of three games. I guessed four.

Ana Ivanovic  had a win over qualifier Zhang…. Ketchup with those French fries  (1 and 1)

Vinci beat Wickmayer 4 and 2

Wozniak blew away Peer one and a bagel. Ouch.

Petkovic  beat wildcard Bouchard with a pair of 2’s

Kudos and bravos to some awesome commentating and observations to Lindsay Davenport, Leif Shiras and Rob ( Robbie ) Koenig. Awesome stuff guys. Not too much talking. Informed comments.

We forgot to mention that last week was the Southern California hall of fame induction. 10sballs.com was there in spirit and full force. Big congrats to all the new members of a very elite group. From memory this years “class ” was. Kathy May Fritz. Billie Jean King. Franklin Johnson. Richard Leach. Hugh Stewart. And I know I forgot someone. I’ll write more another day. We are proud of the group.

Geezer is most proud for the  May family. David May loved tennis. He would think about it day and night. He knew the game. He was a real hacker himself but he knew the game. He could banter with Tony Trabert or Tory Fretz  or bud Collins or bill Tilden.  The Girls were all awesome. Anita , Kathy, Alicia , Amanda, Tommie , I must be missing one or two of them. Also Anita given an option of hitting past you or thru you usually chose the latter. My favorite Anita Mays stories are of Dino Martin picking her up in his convertibles. As if dean Paul Martin needed a flashy car to go with those looks. …  Check out the tennis film ” players ” dean Paul Martin. Ali Magraw and Pancho Gonzales.
