THE TOP FOUR PLAYERS IN THE WORLD AT UNIPRIX STADIUM TOMORROW
Montreal, August 4, 2011 – Rogers Cup presented by National Ban Tournament Director, Eugène Lapierre invites
fans to come out to Uniprix Stadium tomorrow to watch the practice sessions of the top 4 players in the world,
Rafael Nadal (10 a.m. – Centre Court), Roger Federer (12 p.m. – Centre Court), Novak Djokovic (2 p.m. – Centre
Court) and Andy Murray (TBC).
“We invite all tennis fans to come watch these players for free and have the opportunity to see them up close,” said
Lapierre. “It will start the tournament with a bang and we hope everyone will enjoy Family Weekend. We also invite
fans on site to watch the official draw ceremony which will be held at 4 p.m. at the Scène du Casino de Montréal.”
Scheduled for 4 p.m., the draw for this ATP Masters 1000 event will be conducted in the company of officials, ATP
representatives and two-time defending Rogers Cup champion, Andy Murray. It will be followed by the WTA draw
live from Toronto where Serena and Venus Williams will be presiding over the proceedings at the Rexall Centre.
Withdrawals
Robin Soderling (wrist), Andy Roddick (oblique muscle), Guillermo Garcia-Lopez (appendicitis), Frank Dancevic
(withdrawal), Fernando Gonzalez (knee), Xavier Malisse (personal) and Philip Bester (wrist) were forced to
withdraw today.
Wildcards
These withdrawals allow organizers to award a main draw wildcard and two qualifying wildcards. The wildcards will
be announced tomorrow.

Montréal, le 4 août 2011 – Le directeur de la Coupe Rogers présentée par Banque Nationale, Eugène Lapierre,
invite tous les amateurs à assister aux entraînements publics des quatre meilleurs joueurs du monde demain, soit
Rafael Nadal (10 h – Court central), Roger Federer (12 h – Court central), Novak Djokovic (14 h – Court central) et
Andy Murray (à déterminer).
« Nous invitons tous les amateurs de tennis à venir gratuitement sur le site et voir ces joueurs d’un peu plus près »,
a déclaré M. Lapierre. « Ça commence le tournoi en grand, et nous espérons que les gens profiteront également
du week-end de la famille. Nous invitons aussi le public à assister au tirage officiel qui aura lieu dès 16 h sur la
Scène du Casino. »
Prévu pour 16 h, le tirage du tournoi Masters 1000 de l’ATP sera effectué en compagnie des officiels, des
représentants de l’ATP World Tour ainsi que du double champion en titre de la Coupe Rogers, Andy Murray. Il sera
suivi du tirage du tournoi du WTA en direct de Toronto, alors que les sœurs Serena et Venus Williams seront
présentes au Centre de l’excellence de Toronto.
Les retraits
Par ailleurs, Robin Soderling (poignet), Andy Roddick (muscle oblique), Guillermo Garcia-Lopez (appendicite),
Frank Dancevic (retrait), Fernando Gonzalez (genou), Xavier Malisse (personnel) et Philip Bester (poignet) ont dû
déclarer forfait aujourd’hui.
Laissez-passer
Ces retraits permettent aux organisateurs d’octroyer un laissez-passer pour le tableau principal et deux laissez-
passer pour les qualifications. Ceux-ci seront annoncés demain.
