LOS ANGELES – Music will take center stage at Farmers Classic, presented by Mercedes-Benz, on July 29 as Randy Jackson presents The Canyons. The Southern California band will perform at the LA Tennis Center before Friday’s quarterfinal session and will also do an encore set after the first match of the evening session.
The Canyons started in the imagination of Jackson as a collaboration of solo artists, namely Alisan Porter, Ilsey Juber and Jordan Lawhead. The group was put together to follow in the footsteps of legendary bands like Fleetwood Mac and The Beatles, the goal would be real songs, honest music, and a new sound for a generation in need of change.
Porter has been performing since the age of three. She was the youngest person to ever appear and win on “Star Search,” and is best known for her role in the movie “Curly Sue” where she played the title role. She also collaborated with her good friend Adam Lambert on his debut album “For Your Entertainment”.
Juber, the daughter of Laurence Juber, lead guitarist for Paul McCartney and Wings, began as a drummer at the age of 12, but by 15 she was selling jingles and performing around the LA area as a singer/songwriter. She collaborated with actor/musician Terrence Howard on his debut album, “Shine Through It.”
Jordan, an Arizona Native, has worked as a solo artist and published songwriter with Sony/ATV for the past four years. His music has been heard on MTV and on such shows as “Men in Trees”, “Kyle XY” and on the Lifetime Network.He has collaborated with artists such as Jason Reeves, Charlie Sexton, Rusty Anderson and Charlie Peacock.

The 85h annual tournament takes place July 25 – 31 at the LA Tennis Center, UCLA featuring a number of ATP World Tour stars, including: Juan Martin del Potro, Mardy Fish, Fernando Gonzalez, Marcos Baghdatis, James Blake, Dmitry Tursunov, Xavier Malisse and Tommy Haas.
