Caroline Wozniacki is the first Scandinavian world number one in the history of the WTA Tour. She has remained number one in the singles rankings thirty-six weeks in a row. Although she is only twenty years old she has won seventeen WTA titles.
Caroline is happy to be back at the Collector Swedish Open for the second time.
– “It feels a bit like playing at home here in Båstad”. She told the morning news conference.
– “It’s a tough line-up this year, last year’s winner Aravane Rezai is back. I meet Alica Cornet who gets back many balls, so it will be an exciting match. She is a typical clay courter that runs much”.
Yet there has been no Grand Slam title for Caroline even though she is ranked number one in the world but this doesn’t worries her.
– “I feel no pressure to win a Grand Slam. My priority is to play good tennis and win games. I just aim to play well in this tournament”.
Caroline also said that she feels happy with the season so far. She is still number one in the race and has won five tournaments. She wants to follow through with a sixth title for the year.
