Nadal vs Murray

OK tennis fans – This is the first for the ole pro, watching tennis on a computer. They are in the third set. Having split the first 2 sets getting better – no more frustraters.

Obviously we are on the East Coast feed.

Nadal up 3-1 in the third set, Murray seems to be moving well. What’s that, long rally. Murray got the crowd going with a forehand serving down the line – score 3-2 Nadal…

Nadal held serve comfortably 4-2 crowd quiet Nadal going for 5-2 lead. Nadal hit the banana.

Ok we’re in the 4^th set, Murray struggling … crowd trying to pump him up. Can Murray get invigorated? Some close up calls – some great shot making. We are at 4-3 but Murray is still in match. Crowd reveals this: Remember my column about “Tennis being a game of inches, not perfection” – Well, this is a prover.

Well, we are down to the nitty gritty. Murray serving at 3-5 (fourth set). 15 -15 slice backhand from Nadal was a winner 15- 30. Murray – great first serve .. deuce.

Second serve – long. Match point for Nadal. ACE from Murray earns a deuce… very quiet.

Murray got an AD. Didn’t get the first serve but got the point and held lead 5-4 Nadal,

Murray played a loose second point – went in so loudly – Nadal following around the court. 40- 0 match point … Beautiful match point – 40-15. GAME. Good serve down the middle. Follow – up.

Now its 85 years since a Brit won Wimbledon.

Nadal – 20 matches undefeated at the Wimby.

Can the #1 spot be a tie?
