Wimbledon Colors - Not Enough Purple 
Wimbledon 2011. The 125th anniversary, and I’m not there… Someone has to hold down the fort (site)… Geezer, Big Boss, and Global Chick and Sven and Mats Merkel all kept me filled in.
I love what I’m seeing on TV of some of the new additions on the Wimbledon site. But one thing for sure. Not enough flowers…. You know… Purple ones…. Hydrangeas used to drape the balconies of all the buildings. Now with the exception of the Millenium Bldg. The site looks a stark dark green. Not a warm Harrods green…. it has almost an ominous look… green is my favorite color to paint anything…. But where’s the beautiful contrast of color. Like Wimby purple… where’s the purple flowers. Any purple flowers. But oodles of them. We want the warmth they supplied. It was beautiful… Ambiance that’s the word…
I sure missed the shopping at the official shops. Especially the one under court one. With this being such a big anniversary there’s tons of souvenirs to be bought. I was there for the 100th anniversary. It was great! Been there tons. But my great love and affinity for the AELTC is so strong I never reflect on how many… Or how long since the last… I savour every moment that I’ve ever been on those hallowed lawns.
I’ve practiced or warmed up a player at Aorangi park, next to Henman , Rusedski Ridge ,or Murray Mound. Murray mountain?
Is this a year of great tennis or what ? Have you enjoyed it? Had some strawberries and cream at home like me…. My ability to make a good Pimms cup… I’ll have some beans on toast …
