Former Croatian Wimbledon winner Goran Ivanisevic said, “He is Bernard Tomic and everybody is scared of him and he can beat anybody.”
The young Australian player will work with Goran’s former coach Mario Tudor and Goran’s ex physical trainer. “I think he is in good hands. So they are all Croatians, they worked with me and now they work with him.”
Tomic lost to Novak Djokovic after putting up a great fight in the quarter-final. Novak who has lost one match this year said, ”He’s been playing really, really well today. He’s been using the pace fantastically. You can see he feels really comfortable on the court. Obviously what he lacks a little bit more is that experience. But it comes with the time. I’m sure if he continues this way, he’s going to be a top player very soon. I have to congratulate him on a great tournament.”
Bernard said at the press conference after the Djokovic match, “I am proud of myself. What a player Novak is. I gave everything today but he was the better player.”
He admitted thinking about a lot of things when he took a 3-1 lead in third set. He said, “I have a lot of work ahead of me but I definitely belong here with Nadal and Federer.”
Tomic is off to Monte Carlo in the next couple of days but he won’t reveal for what reason.
