Feliciano has reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon twice before in 2005 and 2008. This year’s competition has been fairly smooth sailing for the Spaniard. He cruised past American Andy Roddick in three. The only five set match was in the fourth round against Lukasz Kubot of Poland. Lopez had to save two match points before winning the 4 hour and 18 minute encounter.
The pony tailed left-hander, not your conventional Spanish player is no stranger coming in to the net. Lopez possesses a great serve. In 2007, Feliciano ended Tim Henman’s Wimbledon career beating Henman in 5 sets.
He is a Real Madrid fan and tries to go to their matches if he is at home. His highest singles ranking is No. 20, which was back in 2005. His current ranking is No.44. As a junior he reached the final of the prestigious Orange Bowl tournament.
He counts Fernando Verdasco and Rafael Nadal as his closest friends.
Will history repeat itself? Will Feliciano end Andy Murray’s Wimbledon career tomorrow, can’t wait and see.
