Roger Federer has confirmed he will be a part of the Swiss Davis Cup team. Switzerland will take on Portugal and the tie will be played in Berne.
The team is currently competing in the Europe/Africa group. They will have to win their next two ties to be able to play in the World Group. Switzerland suffered a 5-0 loss to Kazakhstan in the World Group play-off.
The Swiss team will consist of Roger Federer, Stanislas Wawrinka, Stephane Bohli and Marco Chiudinelli.
Argentina will see the comeback of Juan Martin del Potro. The injured stricken Argentine will return to the Argentinian Davis Cup team when they face Kazakhstan in the World Group quarterfinals. The tie will take place in Buenos Aires.
David Nalbandian, Juan Ignacio Chela, Juan Monaco and Juan Martin del Potro will make up the team. Argentina’s Davis Cup coach Tito Vazquez said, “That he is ready to play Davis Cup is a great happiness. It has been a long time since he last played in Argentina. He has been looking very good. That Argentina can enjoy watching him play on these court is very special.”
The World Group Quarterfinals will be played 8-10 July.
