Well, the white avalanche has arrived. White outfits, White tennis balls, White sneakers with those funny little knobs on the bottom… There was one moment when yellow tennis balls might have been better than the white… the first time they closed the roof on center court and the humidity made the ball release for the serve difficult and tracking an overhead almost impossible. But white prevailed.
We have made it to the traditional off-Sunday, and the courts and the field are firming up. Lost Andy Roddick, sorry old boy; maybe the U.S. Open again?
Isner is gone, probably still having flashbacks…what are the odds?
The Clothes
The ladies were certainly more daring–T-backs are in and looked very comfortable Sharapova Is as elegant and cool in her dress, much like the French…Venus is a vision in her bat-wing romper; reminiscent of the 40s movie stars – Joan Crawford and Lana Turner… Woznacki. Is a dream in Stella McCartneys ruffled jumper.. Bravo
On the men’s side, we had the traditional collared shirts with discreet piping and those T-shirts (that were formerly only seen on the practice courts) but we have a winner, Addidas came up with a hybrid cross-over between the.
Collared shirt and the T…congrats.
One fashion alert- to our favorite Ga Ga Lady…Bethanie..fashion can be a lot of things, very edgy, very daring, very fun….but one thing it can’t be is distracting….we had fun watching you and want to see more of you on and off the. court… love ya!
