Top seeded Brazilian Maria-Fernanda Alves, who reached a carrer high of 132 in 2005 and was the winner of 18 International Tennis Federation singles titles and 35 doubles titles was forced to come from a set down to outlast number 8 seed, seventeen year old Kyle McPhillips of Willoughby, Ohio 6-7(6) 6-4 6-1.
Alves will take on 22 year-old Russian Angelina Gabueva, a career high 433 player and in her second International Tennis Federation semifinal of the year, who edged out # 6 seed 17 year-old Chanelle Van Nguyen Miami, Florida 6-7, 6-4, 6-1

The ResortQuest Pro Women’s Open at Sea Colony is the first professional tennis event to come to Bethany Beach, Del., and will be the first tournament held in the state of Delaware since a USTA Pro Circuit $50,000 women’s event was held in Wilmington in 1996. The ResortQuest Pro Women’s Open is the first of three consecutive $10,000 clay court tournaments during the month of June (joining Cleveland and Buffalo, N.Y.).
The semifinal round of singles & the finals of doubles will begin Saturday June 18 at the Sea Colony tennis center.
