Four Canadians Still In Wimbledon |

Montreal, June 14, 2011 – Frank Dancevic (Niagara Falls, ON) is just one win away from the Wimbledon main

draw after defeating Danai Udomchoke of Thailand in the second round today 6-1 6-4. He will take on Italian

Marco Crugnola on Thursday for a spot in the main draw.

Vasek Pospisil (Vancouver) fell in the second round today to No. 29 seed Edouard Roger-Vasselin of France 6-

4 7-5 while Peter Polansky (Thornhill, ON) lost in the first round on Monday.

All three women won their opening matches on Tuesday and will play in the second round Wednesday. Canada

is assured of a player in the final round of qualifying as Heidi El Tabakh (Toronto) and Stephanie Dubois (Laval,

Que.) will play each other in round two. Aleksandra Wozniak (Blainville, Que.), who defeated No. 21 seed

Urszula Radwanska today, will face Kathrin Woerle of Germany.

Marino out of ‘s-Hertogenbosch

Rebecca Marino (Vancouver) lost in the first round of the UNICEF Open in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands

today, after falling to Johanna Larsson of Sweden 7-5 7-5. Her next tournament will be Wimbledon, where she

has automatic entry into the main draw.

tableau principal du simple masculin de Wimbledon après avoir vaincu le Thaïlandais Danai Udomchoke au en

deux manches de 6-1 et 6-4 au deuxième tour des qualifications. Son adversaire de jeudi sera l’Italien Marco

Crugnola.

Malheureusement, Vasek Pospisil (Vancouver) s’est incliné au deuxième tour aujourd’hui, pliant l’échine 6-4 et

7-5 face au Français Édouard Roger-Vasselin, 29e tête de série, tandis que Peter Polansky (Thornhill, ON) avait

été éliminé d’entrée, lundi.

Chez les dames, les trois Canadiennes ont remporté leur affrontement de premier tour mardi et seront en action

mercredi. Le Canada est assuré d’avoir une représentante au dernier tour des qualifications puisque Heidi El

Tabakh (Toronto) se mesurera à Stéphanie Dubois (Laval, QC). Quant à Aleksandra Wozniak (Blainville, QC),

elle a vaincu Urszula Radwanska, 21e tête d’affiche, et sera maintenant opposée à l’Allemande Kathrin Woerle.

Marino trébuche à Bois-le-Duc

Rebecca Marino (Vancouver) a subi une défaite de 7-5 et 7-5 aux mains de la Suédoise Johanna Larsson lors

du tour initial de l’UNICEF Open, à Bois-le-Duc, aux Pays-Bas. Elle se dirigera donc immédiatement vers

Wimbledon pour prendre part au tableau principal.
