Heather Watson awarded wild card for AEGON International

British number two Heather Watson has been awarded a wildcard into the Main Draw at next week’s AEGON International at Devonshire Park.

Watson broke into the top 100 this week after qualifying for the French Open and winning her first round match at the Grand Slam.

She reached the third round of the AEGON Classic in Birmingham this week beating Chanelle Scheepers and Misaki Doi.

She commented: ““I am so looking forward to playing at the AEGON International in Eastbourne again this year and very grateful to have been given a main draw wild card.

“I had a really great event there last year and I am looking forward to playing there again next week.”
