Former US Open champion Juan-Martin Del Potro will complete his
Wimbledon preparations by joining the stellar line-up of players for
this year’s The Boodles grass court tournament, held 14th-18th June at
Stoke Park.
“I’m very happy that I am playing The Boodles this year,” said Del
Potro. “I have heard it’s a great tournament. I think it will be
perfect preparation for Wimbledon because I will get to compete
against really good players on grass there.”
Del Potro, who won the US Open in 2009 and has been ranked as high as
No.4 in the ATP World Tour rankings, will join Gael Monfils, David
Nalbandian, Sam Querrey, Viktor Troicki, Marcos Baghdatis and David
Ferrer to compete in what will be their last tournament before the
Wimbledon Championships which starts on Monday 20th June. The eighth
and final player in the field is yet to be announced.
“We’re thrilled to have a Grand Slam champion like Juan-Martin in what
was already an incredibly strong player line-up this year,” said The
Boodles Tournament Director and Founder Patricio Apey. “The players
love coming to Stoke Park because the courts and the surroundings are
amazing and they know they will get to play competitive matches in a
fantastic atmosphere. This is our tenth The Boodles and we believe
it’s going to be the best yet.”
