- Wozniacki wins a WTA-leading fourth title for 2011, her other three wins also coming at Premier-level tournaments in Dubai, Indian Wells and Charleston.
– Brussels represents the 20-year-old Dane’s first red clay court title on the WTA. She is now 16-10 in WTA finals.
– Chinese No.2 Peng was playing her first Premier-level final. She recorded her 11th Top 10 win along the way, upsetting No.3-ranked Vera Zvonareva in the semifinals, which was also her equal-best career win (she beat a No.3-ranked Anastasia Myskina in 2005).
– Peng, who was playing her first WTA singles final since Guangzhou in 2008, slips to 0-4 in finals.
