The ITF announced that the Swedish Tennis Association has confirmed that the Halmstad Arena in Halmstad, south-west Sweden will stage the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group quarterfinal between Sweden and defending champion Serbia on 8-10 July. The tie will be held indoors on hard court, with a seating capacity of around 4,000 spectators.
The Japanese Tennis Association has selected the Bourbon Beans Dome in Kobe to stage its Fed Cup by BNP Paribas World Group II play-off tie against Argentina on 16-17 July. The tie, which will also be played on indoor hard court, was postponed until July due to the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The venue is already being used to hold a Davis Cup zone group tie between Japan and Uzbekistan the previous weekend.
Both venues are subject to successful site visits by the ITF.
