The ITF confirmed today that Croatia’s Ivo Karlovic broke the world record for the fastest serve during the doubles rubber of the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group first round tie between Croatia and Germany in Zagreb on Saturday 5 March.
Karlovic hit a 251kmph (156mph) serve in the fourth set, which surpasses the previous record of 249.4kmph (155mph) held by USA’s Andy Roddick.
