Sweet Caroline Wins Dubai

Caroline Wozniacki defeated 16th seed Svetlana Kuznetsova from Russia 6-1 6-3 to win the Dubai Championship. This is Caroline’s first win in Dubai and she did it without even losing a set. Overall, this gives Wozniacki her 13th career title and builds upon her momentum after regaining the #1 spot from Kim Clijsters following her earlier win over Shahar Peer.

“I felt really good out there today,” Wozniacki told reporters. “I felt like I was hitting the ball well, clean, and I could really stay aggressive today. I knew I had to because if Svetlana is allowed to stay and dictate, she’s just too strong.”
