Jurgen Meltzer of Austria and Philipp Petzschner of Germany got their hands on their third ATP World Tour title at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament yesterday.
The pair overcame the team of Nenad Zimonjic and Michael Llodra, 6-4, 3-6, 10-5.
Melzer and Petzschner reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open in January, losing to the Bryan Brother. The pair is currently ranked number eight on the ATP Doubles Team Rankings.
Melzer said, “It’s been a great week in Rotterdam. It’s a very strong tournament and to end up winning it is always nice. I think we played great matches.”
Nenad Zimonjic said, “Jurgen and Philipp played a great match today.” Nenad also thanked his partner Michael Llodra after the final. This is only Llodra and Zimonjic’s second tournament as a team.
Petzschner and Melzer will share €82 500 and 500 ranking points.
