The Regions Morgan Keegan Championships announces Canadian Milos Raonic is joining the already strong field of players. Three time defending champion Tommy Haas withdrew late Tuesday due to recurring injuries.
Raonic, fresh off his 4th round performance at the Australian Open, now becomes the youngest player in the field. Currently ranked No. 152, Raonic is expected to break into the top 100 after upsetting world No. 10 Mikhail Youzhny last week in Melbourne.
“The Australian Open was Raonic’s coming out party, of sorts,” said Tournament Director Peter Lebedevs. “He came through the qualifing and defeated a world No. 10. Players and spectators alike are taking notice, and we’re excited to see him compete in Memphis.”
The Regions Morgan Keegan Championships will be played Feb. 14-20, 2011 at The Racquet Club of Memphis.
