John McEnroe to play Delray Beach and Zurich ATP Tour Champions Tour Events

John McEnroe has been training hard for this year’s upcoming seniors events on the ATP Champions Tour. First up, McEnroe, Pat Cash, Todd Martin, Mark Philippoussis and Mats Wilander and three other senior players will compete at the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships. Delray will be played between the 18th and the 22nd of February.

The Angry American has also committed to play at the BNP Paribas Zurich Open in Switzerland. The field is a little different there and will consist of Pete Sampras, Stefan Edberg, Goran Ivanisevic, Thomas Muster, Michael Stich, Henri Leconte and Tim Henman. The Zurich tournament will be held 8-12 of March.

Of his recent form, McEnroe said, “I played some matches 6, 8, 10 years ago against the young guys in which I felt I was up against it, and so in order to compete I’ve had to work even harder.
