For the sixth year in a row Croatian player reached the final of the PBZ Zagreb Indoors! This time it will be Ivan Dodig, who continued tradition set previously by Ivan Ljubicic, Mario Ancic and Marin Cilic as he defeated Spaniard Guillermo Garcia-Lopez on Saturday by 4:6, 7:6 (5), 6:4. His opponent in the final will be German Michael Berrer, who needed only 59 minutes to gain victory against countryman Florian Mayer. Berrer won 6:1, 6:4 and reached the second consecutive final in Zagreb and second overall.
“Zagreb is obviously very good place for me. I am glad that match took under an hour, so I was able to save energy for tommorrow. I did not lose serve today and will be ready for the finals”, Berrer said at the press conference.
Match between Dodig and Garcia-Lopez was much more entertaining and had happy ending for 84th ranked Croat. Garcia-Lopez was 6:4 4:3 up with serve and held four points for 5:3 lead, but Dodig broke and completely change the situation on court.
“I went to my limits, especially in the tie-break. I am very tired at the moment, but I hope I will be ready for the finals”, Dodig said
