1st day of sleeping in and having a morning to walk around for the 1st time since 3 weeks non-stop tennis! Got up at 8:30 and had a home front Skype session followed by a workout and breakfast in the city with Mats!
At lunch we had a meeting with Caroline and her parents to reflect on yesterdays match and to plan the upcoming months of tennis!
I initially wanted to watch the final of both Maria Kirilenko but she had to play a fellow Adidas player so we could only watch on TV! Unfortunately for Maria she lost after being up 6-3 4-1!
When we got to the site we met up with Esther and I got a chance to take a picture (for the 1st time) with my number 1’s in the world!
Today Esther had her doubles final and ended up winning the title with Sharon Walraven!
I could not watch the Esther’s doubles because Mats and I had to watch 2 of our Adidas juniors battle out in the semi finals (Genie Bouchard and Monica Puig)
As I was wandering (1st time) the grounds, I thought I mention this to my fellow Dutch people, that they serve a nice “poffertjes” here at the Australian Open! Yes “poffertjes” small Dutch pancakes!
Now I am getting ready for the semi final match of tonight (Murray – Ferrer) where we will watch from Andy’s box together with Caroline and Mats!
